The Annual National Heroes Day Celebrations in 2013 to 2018

Each Heroes Day has a specific theme and apart from my additional duties to prove all printed and promotional materials I am given the exhibit to organize. My responsibilities included:

 

  • All printed collateral including, sitemaps, programme booklet, invitations, signs, banners, certificates, historical posters and the research and development for the poster.

  • Development of theme; look and feel of the event.

  • Design and production of insignia.

  • Prepare proposed marketing, exhibit and insignia budget.

  • Organize and coordinate facilities: Library and George Town Town Hall.

  • Organize recipient certificate distribution in Library.

  • Organize and coordinate exhibitor/vendor, track their attendance and any special requirements.

  • Coordinate plants with Dept. of Agriculture.

  • Organize tables and chairs for exhibit according to the developed sitemap.

  • Organize display of life-size catboat, Hot Rod Association racing car and the antique displays.

  • Exhibition Décor and signs.

  • Organize and coordinate photo-booth decor and setup.

  • Organize and coordinate awardee photo opportunity with Premier and Ministers the day of the event.

  • Organize photographer.

  • Organize extra security.

  • Ensure that all marketing and promotions are on track before, after and during the event.

  • Attend and do radio appearances to help promote the event and exhibit.

  • Post-event break-down.

  • Post-event evaluation with the team.

Caribbean Week of Agriculture (CWA) – Conference and Expo
24th – 28th October 2016

 

CWA is an annual Caribbean regional event conceptualized by CARDI and in 2016 the Cayman Islands was the host country. It is the platform where key decision-makers in the public and private sectors to better acknowledge the importance of agriculture and rural life to the economic, social and environmental stability of the region; and for the major stakeholders in agriculture and related sectors to have an opportunity to dialogue and forge a common vision for the repositioning of agriculture and the enhancement of rural life.

My responsibilities included:

 

  • Pre-Alliance visits and tours.

  • Branding

  • Developing and updating the ‘Week at a Glance’ Agenda

  • Develop and manage website

  • Manage Communication expectations between local and international parties.

  • Manage and monitor social media forums as a group of teens who came down to cover the event

  • Manage and organize facilities including conference rooms, press rooms, several secretariats; reservations with hotels in the vicinity (blocked rooms) and facilitate restaurant vouchers (It was restaurant month and guests were able to take advantage of all the specials).

  • Manage and organize guest relations including special requirement, visas, accommodations, booth setup, etc.

  • Help organize special events such as Premier and Minister Reception with delegates, farm tours, Culinary & Cultural Welcome reception (at White House and it was like a small Taste of Cayman) and closing reception.
